What Is This Life

What is this life about?
Is it learning all that I can?
Is it making a lot of friends?
Or making my own special plans?

What is this life about?
Is it partying into the night?
Is it trying to always be right?
Or winning each quarrel or fight?

I think life is about much more than this
It is more than just playing a game 
This life is a journey, it's running a race 
That awaits us when we reach the end

You see life doesn't stop when we take our last breath
It has actually only begun
This life will determine where the next one starts out 
So you need to be choosing to win.

What exactly was Jesus life all about?
It was saving the lost gone astray
It brought healing to sick and sight to the blind
And it taught all of us the right way

What exactly was Jesus life all about?
It was laying His life down for us.
It was teaching us pride has no place in the wise
And showing us mercy and grace

His example is clear and His message us true
So shouldn't we follow His lead?
He showed us what this life should be all about
About filling our neighbors needs.

So put off your thoughts of me first and mine 
Let's do what He put us here for
Treating our neighbor as deserving of love
That is what this life is for.


Live Like Him

In a world that is lost and is out of control
And a moral decay in the land
When right is called wrong and evil is good
One wonders how this fits God's plan

Those of us who know He does all for good
And that He wants His glory to win
Must realize this chaos the world seems to us
Should make us all live more like Him

When I live like Him, His love will shine forth
When I live like Him blind will see 
When I live like Him others will see His peace
And they too will cry to be free

When I live like Him, my joy should explode
When I live like Him lame will walk
When I live like Him I will tell of His love
And my faith will show up as I talk

Ww sit here and grumble about the demise
Of the trouble our country is in
Yet it's in our power to change it for good
If well just start to live like Him

When I live like Him I will never condemn
When I live like Him I will pray
When I live like Him I will look for the good
In each person who comes 'round my way

And the world will see Jesus in each of our lives
And they'll see how He truly loves them
They will know that God cares, wherever they are
If only we live just like Him.

Not No More

Once I was the devil's puppet toy
Now I'm not, thanks to God
I was used to plan his evil ploys 
Now I'm not no more

I was quite a hurtful man back then
Now I'm not, thanks to God
Used my words to inflict others pain
Now I'm not no more,

No more underneath his spell
No more using words to kill
No more following his will
No way, not no more.

Ever since I heard He died for me
Yes, my Lord, I am yours
Ever since I found His great mercy
Yes, my Lord, I'm yours
Jesus calls for me to do His will
Yes, my Lord, I am yours
Telling everyone He loves them still 
Yes, my Lord, I'm yours

No more hiding Him down deep inside
No more keeping silent why He died
No more will I be a quiet child
No way, not no more

I will shout His praises everyday
Hallelujahs lifted to His name
I will tell the world about His grace

Blood Applied

I'm so glad the blood of Christ applies
To every pain and wound in life
I can walk in health each day revived
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

I'm so glad His love has rescued me
From a life of sin and misery
I do not deserve His great mercy

Jesus is my Lord and King
He provided everything
On the cross He bled and died
Bore my sin and purchased life
I will lift His name in praise
Every hour of every day
Christ alone, to Him I owe
All my heart and soul

I'm so glad His peace will flood my soul
Every time a worry catches hold
He will calm my fears and make me bold
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain

Giving me a hope for future life
I will reign with him from heaven on high

Don’t Just Remember

My Lord took me back to the Manger one day
I saw wise men and shepherds bowing to pray
Mary and Joseph were bowing their heads
Praising the newborn babe

Then He took me to John at the River Jordan
And I heard him ask Jesus if he was the one
The Spirit descended on Jesus that day
And God acknowledged His Son

Then I saw the five thousand sit at His feet
And from fishes and bread He gave them to eat
Abundant leftovers were scattered around
As Jesus just sat and preached

I came to a cave that was shut up tight
And soon He called out for the dead to gain life
The people around were frozen in awe
As Jesus walked into the night

Then the worst of all moments came into my sight
As I witnessed His trial and He didn’t fight
He stood there and took the offenses they threw
And silently gave up His life

They led Him away to an old rugged cross
Then I watched Him die, oh what a loss
But He asked that forgiveness be given to all
Before paying the ultimate cost

In those moments I realized the sights that I’d seen
Had all been revealed to me so I would see
That remembering what He had done for me
Would never be really enough

For the task that He has for me every day
Is to witness that He is the Truth and the Way
That salvation for all is a prayer away
If only I’ll help them believe.

Heavenly Reward

My first day in heaven what do I see
It's the voice of Jesus calling to me
He says welcome home, come sit by my side
Let me show the fruit that has come from your life

He opens my eyes to a vision of souls
Lining the streets made of purest gold
All ages and races are standing there free
And Jesus says all are because of me

This one from the mission field where you gave
That one from a Sunday School lesson one day
A third from the time I shared Christ on a bus
A fourth from the time that I just had to trust.

They came one by one as they slowly passed by
Saying thank you to me with a wonderful smile
And I realized each word I'd spoken down here
Had a lasting effect on someone else's ear.

I wished I could cry out to those still alive
To wake up and finally realize
That eternity was in the words that they spoke
Now is the time to talk about hope

Don't worry what anyone else might say
Just point everyone to Jesus TODAY
And then when your first day in heaven arrives
You too will see fruit that has come from your lives.

Witness

Can I get a witness of amazing Grace?
Has He set your feet in a higher place?
Do you long each day to see his face?
Can I get a witness of amazing Grace?

Can I hear a testimony of His love?
Has He touched your heart from His throne above?
Do you have compassion that hugs everyone?
Can I hear a testimony of His love?

Shout it from the mountain top. Let your voice be raised
Jesus Christ is Lord of all, worthy of our praise
Tell the whole world of His love. Witness every day
He redeemed me for all time, washed my sins away

Can you tell your neighbor of His sacrifice?
How he bled and died to give eternal life?
How He washed away their sin by taking stripes?
Can you tell your neighbor of His sacrifice?

Don't be silent any longer.
Don't be fearful of their doubt
Lift your voice and tell His story.
Make Him known so they'll find out
There's a Savior waiting for them.
Jesus is His mighty name
He is knocking at their heart now.
Help them lift their voice in praise

Shout it from the mountain top. Let your voice be raised
Jesus Christ is Lord of all, worthy of our praise
Tell the whole world of His love. Witness every day

Resolved

This year I will praise Him
With all my heart and soul
I'll lift my voice to heaven
To Jesus Christ our Lord
 This year I will love my neighbor
And those who are in need
I'll ask the Lord for wisdom
And plant some gospel seeds
 
I am resolved to walk
Everyday as a light
My greatest desire is to see
Sinners saved from their plight
Lord help me be a witness
In everything I do
I am resolved to live
So that others will see you
 
This year I'm going to pray
With a fervent and faithful heart
Work down my list each day
Of those who have crossed my path
 
This year I will have mercy
On those who may do me wrong
I will extend your grace Lord
To all who may come along
 
When I see
Lives get changed
By your loving
Holy hand
I will lift up
My voice in thanks
And give you all the praise
 
I am resolved to walk
Everyday as a light

The Vision

Soaring
High above the earth
I'm soaring
Flying through the clouds 
I'm soaring
Looking down at earth below

Hoping 
By faith I ask the Lord
I'm hoping
That we can make a change 
I'm hoping
Love will conquer all our fears 

And then I see a fountain
A fountain filled with joy
Springing up all over 
From within the saints of God

And then I see a river
A river filled with peace 
Flowing 'cross the landscape 
Centered where the joy had been

They flowed into an ocean
An ocean labeled love
Eventually this ocean 
Touched the nations all around

Wond'ring
Could this really be
I'm wond'ring
If the saints of God can yield 
I'm wond'ring
If the vision I have seen can come 

Hearing
The voice of God declare
I'm hearing
My son this can come true
I'm hearing
When all my children heed my word 

I drop down on my knees
And ask forgiveness now
He shows me His great mercy
And bids me go and tell
The vision that I've seen
Can be both here and now 
If only we will share our love 
With everyone around

Soaring
All throughout the land
I'm soaring
Praising God's great love
I'm soaring
Knowing that the world can change 

Hoping
The saints will hear the call
I'm hoping
And release the love of God
I'm hoping 
To see this vision come to life

The Vine

Lord feed me wisdom 
That I might see
All the injustice 
That's all around me
All of the heartache 
All of the pain
All of the suffering 
All the disdain 
Feed me a heart
That will reach out in love 
And touch all the broken
So they'll know your love

Lord feed me courage 
That I might know 
How to change doubt
Into faith that shows
All of the fear
All of the worry
All of the sorrow 
All of the hurry
Feed me the strength 
To open their eyes
And lead them to you, Lord
So faith will arise

You are the vine 
I am the branch 
Fill me with love
Give me a chance 
To bear you much fruit 
As I follow your plan
Tend to my life
With your loving hand

Feed me compassion 
So others  may see
Your love for them, Lord
Through the life that I lead 
All of the joy
All of the peace 
All of the grace 
All the mercy 
Feed me with life
In all that I do
So I can successfully 
Lead them to you

And all of the fruit I bear dear Lord
I owe it all to you
It is your loving hand that prunes the branch
To make it bear more fruit
So do with me what you will, dear Lord
To shape and mold this branch
No matter the trial or test that comes
My life it will enhance
