Have You Seen the Star

Have you seen the star
Have you bowed in awe
Have you traveled far
From your sin

Have you given gold
All the world beholds
So that you can hold
Onto Him

Has the frankincense
Cleansed you from your sin
Are you born again
A priest for Him

Has the myrrh applied
From yourself to die
Giving up your life
All for Him

Have you seen the star
Has it changed your life
Come to Jesus now
And be saved

Shepherd’s Song

Quiet night
Stars shine bright
Giving light
To all below
Shepherds watching
Sheep all grazing
All not knowing
What’s in store

Suddenly
From the heavens
Angel saying
Fear thou not
Unto you
Today is born
A Savior
Christ the Lord

Then angelic
Host starts singing
Glory to God
In highest heaven
Still proclaiming
Peace on earth
Goodwill to man
Go see the child

They went to see Him
In the manger
Quiet babe
Among these strangers
Knelt to worship
Saw no danger
Praising Christ, the Lord

Glory to God, The Angels sang
Great is the Lord our God
Peace on earth, Good will to all
Is the Angels song above

When we bow down
To Christ the Lord’
For the first time
The Angel chorus
Sings out a song
In joyful glee
That one more has entered heaven

Will that be you
This Christmas day
Will you ask Christ
To be your way
Will you invite Him
In to stay
Accept His gift today
And then angels will sing again

Glory to God, The Angels sang
Great is the Lord our God
Peace on earth, Good will to all
Is the Angels song above

HIStory

The story is told
How a long time ago
The God of creation
Looked down below
And said “Son, it is time
For you to bestow
Our mercy and grace on mankind

So the Son left His throne
To bring freedom to all
He was born of a virgin
And was laid in a stall
Shepherds were summoned
To greet Him with awe
On that marvelous, glorious morn

He walked on this earth
Spreading His love
Teaching the people
The truths from above
But the leaders of men
Had about had enough
They condemned Him to death on a cross

Beaten and bruised
Crown of thorns on His brow
He carried His cross
Through the streets of the town
Golgotha awaited
His love would be known
As His wrists and His feet were nailed

From the cross His blood flowed
Down and out for all time
“Father, forgive them”
He said as He died
His mercy and grace
Were released to mankind
For whoever will call on His name

They laid Him to rest
In a tomb someone gave
And the Romans did guard Him
By night and by day
But they fainted in awe
As the stone rolled away
And Jesus arose from the grave

Oh wonderful Savior
Christ Jesus my Lord
You have freed me from sin
It us you I adore
And you rose so that heaven
Is for me evermore
When I call out to you to be saved

I love you, Jesus
I’ll follow your ways
And I’ll tell your story
All of my days
I’ll pray for my family
And friends to be saved
Your mercy and grace are now mine
Help me share them all of the time
So that others will know
That you came down below
As the Savior for all of mankind

Only the Blood of Jesus

What is it that reaches the depths of my heart
What is it that brings in a grace that imparts
What is it that makes us from sin to depart
Only the blood. Only the blood

What is it that cleanses my heart from all sin
What is it that places His peace deep within
What is it that helps us our battles to win
Only the blood of Jesus

Only the blood will bring us to God
Only the blood will birth in us awe
Of the wonderful price that He paid that day
When He washed our sins away

What is it that reached down from heaven that day
When a virgin born baby lay sleeping in hay
Shepherds and wise men came ‘round to pray
Only the blood. Only the blood

Only the blood came to earth that day
Inside the flesh of the babe in the hay
Had He not said that He’d come this way
Our sins would not be washed away

On this Christmas day remember the blood
Remember the price He paid was enough
To pardon your sin and build a new heart
Only the blood of Jesus

Extraordinary Day

It’s not ordinary at all
What happened that day
When heaven came down
In a manger to lay

Angels came singing
To shepherds alone
Kings came from far
As the brightest star shone

Mother and father
Had traveled so far
To find the inn full
Underneath that star

Bet both of them knew
That this special day
The Savior was born
To take sin away

Yet the kept quiet
About their sons fate
He didn’t come too soon
And He was not late

The time was just right
And today we see
That Jesus redeems
Both you and me

Let’s never forget
That extraordinary day
When heaven came down
And in a manger lay

The Believers Life

What’s True for You?

I’ve often thought Christmas was special
A Holiday meant to enjoy
But it seems lately people have struggled
To find all the Christmas joy

Especially in our schools of the day
Where so many views are taught
They often make quite a kerfuffle
When the songs for the choir are sought

It seems pretty clear to me
That the songs from a long time ago
Should be featured at Christmas time
Since these are the tunes that we all know

Let’s put aside silly arguments
That anything else is true
Christmas is all about Jesus
I sure hope that’s true fore you

Fruit of the Spirit

Joy is Full

The shopping brouhaha
Is very far
From Bethlehem’s star

We save a bunch of time
Not in line
But shopping online

Then we are quite mindful
Joy is full
From Christ’s arrival

Jesus Life

He Came to Die

At Christmas time we celebrate
The Birthday of our Lord
Born this day in Bethlehem
A stable His abode

Shepherds came to greet Him
For an angel told them where
They bowed before the little child
While Mary looked on there

He grew and started preaching
Repent for God is nigh
He healed all that would come to Him
He taught them with no lies

His message made the rulers made
The planned to take His life
But He knew all about their plans
The prophets all were right

We celebrate His birth today
And rightfully we should
But more important is the fact
He came to die for you

His purpose from the very start
Was to give His life away
Please don’t forget the price He paid
On this Christmas day

Pretty Lights

Pretty Lights

We have a tradition in my house
At Christmas time each year
We decorate with pretty lights
To show our Christmas cheer

And right in the center of all
The scene of the manger is placed
Because what would Christmas be
Without giving Christ our praise

Remember

The baby in the manger
The shepherds in the field
The wise men and their gifts
The angel in the heavens
The star shines up above
Mary bows her head
Joseph standing tall

The pageant is before us
As Christmas day does near
Maybe in the town square
Or in our church so dear

Usually little children
Act out the yearly scene
Showing us the Christ child
The way that it would seem

But do we really see Him
The King of Kings is He
Lord of all the heavens
Filled with God’s mercy

Do we bow before Him
Repenting of our sins
Do we give Him honor
And ask Him to come in

Come in to all our failures
Come in to all our pain
Come in to rescue us
And save us once again

This Christmas as you watch
The pageant and the show
Remember that this child
Is the one who saves your soul
