I’ve tried real hard
throughout my life
To be a step ahead
The hurry and the scurry
always kept my
Wondering
What if I resist
The urge
To keep up with the Joneses
And I just lived
A simpler life
With Christ
What I found
When I slowed down
Was peace
And joy
I’d never known
I found contentment
Even in hard times
Because I knew
He was there
What a find
What a privilege
To have Him
There
Now I do my best
To resist
The call of the world
And respond to
The call of
Christ
