All That I Desire

I want to see your face
Put my hand in your hand
Hear you whisper in my ear
Walk beside you through this land

I want to have your blessing
As we walk side by side
Knowing you will never leave me
If with you I abide

Jesus, precious Jesus
You are all that I desire
Your Holy Spirit guiding me
Will set my heart on fire
Help me live a life of mercy
Help me live a life of grace
Because that is what it takes
If I want to see your face

I want to have you smile at me
And tell me job well done
I want your love to flow through me
Reaching everyone

I want to see the nations saved
So all will sing your praise
Because there's nothing more I love
Than worshiping your name

How can I ever repay the debt that you paid for me?
How can I think about anything else than your grace to me?
How can I praise you enough, my Lord?
You gave your life for me.

I can only give praise! The highest praise.
I can give glory to your name. Lift your name on high
I can only give praise. Honor and glory to your name.
I will honor you with all of my life.

How can I thank you for the breath I have every day?
How can I thank you for sounding the beat of my heart?
How can I thank you for shining a light on my way?
How can I thank you enough my Lord
You have loved me from the start.

You're everything to me
I was dying in my sin
And then you rescued me

When I gave my life to you
You met my deepest need  
                       
My need was not for riches 
Or for power or for fame
My need was not possessions
Or for fleshly gain
My desperate need was cleansing
Deep down into my soul

What a wonderful God you are to me
Your love is a marvelous thing
You shower your grace on me every day
And shelter me under your wings

I am not wise but you give me wisdom
I have no power but you honor my prayers
I am a sinner but you make me holy
I am a servant but you make me a king

What a merciful God you are to me
You have taken my sins away
Even though I rejected and mocked your name
You forgive me day after day

You've given me a wonderful gift
The gift of eternal life

I cannot imagine why He came to earth

Why He left His throne in heaven above

I cannot imagine why He chose to lay

In a stable filled with hay.



I cannot imagine why He chose to walk

As a man in such an ugly world

I cannot imagine why He taught the crowd

When His enemies were so loud

But He did. Yes He did.



He came to show the way

He came to give us grace.

Yes, he did. I know He did.

No matter what the cost

No matter what the loss

He came to die in my place



I cannot imagine the pain He must have felt

As they placed the crown of thorns on His head

I cannot imagine the blood that must have spilled

From the lashes He received that day



Then He took the nails in His feet and hands

He hung upon the cross in agony and pain

And then he cried "Father, forgive them"

He echoed through time "Father forgive them"



I cannot imagine what life would be like

If I still had to carry my sin

I cannot imagine the fury of hell

That He has saved me from



But now I have a home in heaven above

That has been bought and paid for by His blood

He provided me new life with His great love

Oh What a price he paid!

He came to show the way

He came to give us grace.
