Because You Are There

If I am walking in the mountains
To see the view from atop the highest peaks
Beautiful lush valleys filled with forest leaves
Blue sky above with a wisp of cloud in the distance
The air cool and a slight breeze
As I still myself I can hear your voice
Because you are there

If I am walking in the lowest valley
Lush plants and trees all around me
Flowers springing up wild that provide color
Red, yellow, orange, blue, white
So beautiful
Adorning to the pleasant trail I am walking on
Birds sing their songs of praise from the trees above
Glorious trees springing forth from the lush soil below
A brook gently babbling in the background
The squeal of locusts here and there
As I still myself I hear your voice
Because you are there.

If I am out in the midst of the largest sea
Waves gently rolling
Lapping against the sides of the boat
Rocking it slightly as I sit
A soft breeze keeps the waves coming
It is night and the stars shine brightly
The constellations are all assembled
A shooting star occasionally darts across the sky
There is not a sound to be heard
Except the waves rolling in
So I still myself to hear your voice
Because you are there

No matter where I am
Or what I am doing
No matter what trial I am facing
Or where I need healing
No matter what I might be thinking
Or how I might be running
No matter where my heart is
Or where I think I’m going
No matter how strong I am
Or how prideful I’ve become
No matter what your are there

You are always with me
Always beside me
Always before me
Always behind me
Always for me
Always guiding me
Always healing me
Always helping me
Always providing for me
Always protecting me
Always watching over me
Always my Savior
Always my redeemer
Always my King of Kings
Always my Lord of Lords
Always loving me
Because you are there

There are not many words I can add to what this poem already says. He is with me all the time, every day, everywhere. He will never leave me alone, no matter what stupid things I have done. He is our loving heavenly Father and we are safe in His arms.

Isaiah 43 King James Version
43 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

The God Who Loves Me

Who paints the brilliant hues and celestial rainbows upon the clouds and the heavens
Where eyes can see them and where they cannot
Who listens to the calls of the birds and insects and wild beasts in all the corners of the globe
Where ears can hear then and where they cannot
Who drops the dew and the snow down on frosted valleys and distant mountains
Where fingers can feel them and where they cannot
Who crafts the aroma of the flowers and the shrubs that lie all around the globe
Where noses can smell them and where they cannot
There certainly is not a man who can name every color that is found in this vast creation
Or who can mimic every sound that might be soft or loud in all the heavens
Or send the vast array of sensations that can be felt by man throughout this earth
Or that can mix together the unending smells and fragrances that dance around in the air
There certainly is no other beast or flying thing that can accomplish these tasks
There certainly is no being in the sea or crawling on the ground that can carry out these feats
Who or what is it then that does all this
That has done this since the beginning of time
That will do this until the end of time
It must be one who holds the expanse of the earth in His hands
It must be one that can take time and stop it whenever He pleases
It must be one who can create something from nothing and can make nothing of something
Who can bring all the forces of nature together to please the least if His creation
Who can place every fragrance
Every color
Every sound
Right where He wants it to be
He must be omniscient
Knowing all things so he can mix them together precisely as they are needed
He must be omnipresent
Being able to bring from the far corners of the earth each ingredient as it is needed at that moment
He must be omnipotent
Having all power to draw out the very essence of each and every sensation
He must be above all
And in all
And through all
This is the God I serve
This is the God who loves me
The God of yesterday today and forever
The God who parted the Red Sea
The God who knocked down the walls of Jericho
The God who guided David’s stone
The God who saved Daniel from the Lions’ Den
The God who showed Ezekiel the wheel within a wheel
The God who loved us so much that he gave His only Son to die for us
To die for me
That is the God I serve
That is the God I love
That is the God who loves me
