I was happy.
I had no regrets.
I had lived the way I wanted to and no bad happened yet
But then I met a man who had more joy than I had ever seen
I knew I wanted some of that so he told me where he’d been

I‘ve been forgiven
My sins are gone.  
He bled and died to take away all my guilt and shame
He stretched his arms out wide on Calvary’s tree 
That I might live 
Eternally

Well, I was baffled at what he said. 
I never heard of a man and a tree so I asked him to explain
Then he told me the story of Jesus and my soul was filled with pain
I knew that I was heading wrong and it was time for a change

So, I knelt down on my knees to pray  
Dear Jesus, please forgive me and help me find my way
I put my trust in you dear Lord  to guide me day by day
And then I knew down in my spirit I would never be the same.

I am forgiven
My sins are gone.  
He bled and died to take away all my guilt and shame
He stretched his arms out wide on Calvary’s tree 
That I might live 
Eternally

If you kneel down on your knees and pray.  
Dear Jesus, please forgive my sins and help me find my way
I put my trust in you dear Lord to guide me day by day
Then He’ll come into your heart and you will never be the same

You’ll be forgiven
You’ll be healed
You’ll be delivered
You’ll find peace
You’ll wind joy
You’ll find faith
You’ll find all of this in Jesus name!

It’s not rocket science.  It’s just simple math.
He paid the price and that is a fact
He paid for my healing. He paid for my peace
He paid once and for all when He died for me

That cross that He bore was not just His death

It all adds up to buy my victory
What an awesome redeemer is He

And know the meaning of His final words

The work of redemption, sin crucified
His work in the end was crying out
Needing what he could not give Himself

His words bring victory to all who hear
And know the meaning of His final words

And in the midst of it all He said forgive them
For they know not what they do
His words ring down through the ages
That we should always live with gratitude
Forgiving those who wrong us
Thirsting for their love
Knowing it is finished
And Jesus dwells above

When I Look At the Cross

When I look at the cross, I see mercy
Pouring down from the blood on His brow
All of heaven came down at that moment
To forgive me and make me His child

When I look at the cross, I see grace
Given freely with the nails in His hands
All the riches of heaven became mine
When He suffered and died for my shame

When I look at the cross, I am peaceful
He took all my punishment there
I don’t have to worry about storms that may come
They all crumble and vanish away

When I look at the cross, I see His love
As He gave up His life for me
All the suffering that He endured that day
Just to pardon and sanctify me

When I look at the cross, I am hopeful 
For eternally living with Him 
I will lift up my praise and my worship 
To the Lamb who has washed all my sin
