I Was

I was smart

Even on the honor role every year

Near the top of my class

But not smart in life

I had means

Money was not a big issue for me

I bought what I wanted

Drugs and booze

My means were wasted

I was stuck

In a world I disdained

Too stubborn to leave

Too tied up with my friends

I was stuck

I escaped

Threw off my stubbornness

Repented of my sin

Asked Jesus in my heart

And life began again

In response to the daily prompt Stubborn

  1. The good Lord is always ready to embrace His children if only we can go to Him everytime we fall short of His glory and repent genuinely.
