As the day approaches, excitement fills the house
The tree is decorated, the turkey has been thawed
The presents look really pretty underneath the Christmas tree
I look up at the star on top and this is what I see

One day long ago in little Bethlehem
The Son of God left His throne to become the Son of Man

Lights adorn the deck outside and sparkle in the night
Packages arrive each day to the kids delight
Snow is falling gently as we take vacation days
To sit and hear the fire burn and hear the angels praise

Glory, glory, glory to God in the highest
Peace on earth, good will to man is their sweet refrain
For unto us a child is born in a manger filled with hay
What a sight it is to see how God became a babe
