I couldn’t ask the Lord for more
Of His amazing grace
Or His everlasting mercy
Or His loving soft embrace

I couldn’t ask the Lord for more
Of His abiding peace
Or His overwhelming joy
Or His Spirit of release

He gives and gives then gives some more
And all He asks of me
Is to follow in His footsteps
And His disciple be

I couldn’t ask for blessings
Because He gives me oh so much
I couldn’t ask for miracles
I’m surrounded by His touch

But I can ask for guidance 
That He lead me every day
And I could ask for wisdom
That I follow in His way

I can ask forgiveness
When I wander from His plan
And I can ask protection
In the palm of His hand

He gives and gives then gives some more

Is to follow in His footsteps
And His disciple be

There’s nothing He won’t do for me
To follow in His ways
He’ll walk with me and talk with me
For all my coming days

So I will lift my praises 
To my Savior and my Lord
Because He’s with me forever
He’s the one that I adore
